Challenges of Youth - Inland Agency is a community collaboration which provides direct service to thousands of youth per year throughout Riverside County. The program goal is to reduce teen pregnancy and promote and support the development of self assured, future oriented youth capable of navigating through adolescence to responsible adulthood. This program is funded through a grant from the State of California Department of Public Health MCAH OFP. Additional funding is provided by grants from Target, the Corona-Norco United Way, and private donations.
The Community Tool Box seeks to strengthen the high desert community of Adelanto by supporting community driven projects that educate, advocate, inform and organize residents of all ages. Funding is provided by First 5 San Bernardino, The California Wellness Foundation, The Willmas Trust, California Consumer Protection Foundation, the County of San Bernardino and through private donations.
The Desert Sierra Regional Contractors promotes breast and cervical health among all women, with a focus on low income women who have limited resources. Through the partnership, women are educated about the importance of early detection and are given access to breast and cervical cancer screening and treatment services. Funding is provided by the State of California Department of Public Health Cancer Detection Section.
The Women's Health Initiative provides free breast cancer screening to low income women who are 39 years or younger and have an identified breast health concern. This program is provided at the Eastside and Arlanza medical clinics in Riverside through funding from the Riverside Community Health Foundation, and at clinics in San Bernardino County through funding from the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.
HICAP counselors help Medicare beneficiaries and their families understand their benefits and access critically needed health services. Funding for the HICAP program is provided by the County of Riverside Office on Aging and the County of San Bernardino Department of Aging and Adult Services through the California Department of Aging.
