Shop to Stop Postcard

What a Night!
Shop to Stop Breast Cancer rocked the Marriott!

The Grand Ballroom of the Riverside Marriot was the place to be on Monday, March 31st as over 200 of Riverside's nicest (and most generous) people rubbed (and jostled) elbows as they vied for treasures in our second annual "Shop to Stop Breast Cancer" event, raising close to $55,000.

The "one-hour boutique" was filled with wonderful, donated items (everything from iPods to antiques) which guests were allowed to purchase with the "Inland Agency Dollars" they received in exchange for their donation.

Co-chairs Sue Mitchell and Rina Gonzales welcomed the eager shoppers, and explained that all funds raised will be used to support Inland Agency's breast health programs which provide free mammograms to uninsured women. Honorary Chair Kristi Robinson Olsen spoke eloquently of her awareness, as a young survivor, of the urgent need to provide screening services to women 39 and younger. She praised Inland Agency for providing over 16,000 free mammograms last year, including 227 free mammograms to young women (exceeding our goal of 125) through support from the Riverside Community Health Foundation and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.

And then the shopping began . . . (more)
