It has been difficult, but she is eager to learn and become a leader in her community. Nancy will be participating in upcoming trainings that will be offered by the American Heart Association so that she can teach other women how to live healthier lives.
Nancy was living with her children in a one bedroom home that was shared with her uncle who was unstable and violent. She needed somewhere to move to get away for the safety of her children. With contacts that she made through the Tool Box she was able to secure an apartment. She is now living in her own place where she knows that her children will be safe. Nancy has said that “Without the Community Tool Box I would have been living in my car to protect my children”.
